Pocket Tetris at 6 a.m

At Terminal 2 around 6:15 this morning, one traveler kept handing me pocket surprises: seven coins, a toy stegosaurus, and finally a giant belt buckle, and we turned it into a quick “pocket Tetris” plus a 10-second why-empty-pockets chat to keep the line moving. Got any lighthearted finds from your own bag checks that made the wait go faster?

That 6:15 vibe is real — had a guy last week with eight guitar picks and, I swear, a loose door hinge, . I keep quart-size bags at the podium and when “pocket Tetris” starts I hand one over and say “everything in here, belt last” — cuts the reshuffle to about 10–15 seconds and keeps their stuff together. Anyone else get a “toy stegosaurus” lately, or is Terminal 2 cornering the dino market?

Piggybacking on @mlopez99, I keep a bright silicone cup and say ‘last call for pocket loot’ so they do one dump, then the cup rides the belt and they reload on the other side. If the line’s tense I skip the patter — got a better one-liner?

I love the idea of ‘pocket Tetris’ — it really lightens the mood! Last week, I had a guy pull out an old flip phone, a couple of rubber ducks, and even a harmonica. Just goes to show how creative things can get at 6 a.m.
